Acts 14:1-18

  1. Perseverance in Persecution
In Acts 14:1-3, Paul and Barnabas face opposition in Iconium but remain bold, supported by signs and wonders. How can we rely on the Holy Spirit to stay faithful and bold in sharing our faith when we encounter resistance or social pressure? Can you share a personal experience where you faced challenges for your faith?
  2. Turning from Idols
Paul urges the people of Lystra to turn from “worthless things” to the living God (v. 15). What are some modern-day “idols” or distractions that compete for our allegiance to God? How can we practically turn away from these and focus on the living God?
  3. God’s Witness to All
In verses 16-17, Paul explains that God has not left Himself without a witness, providing rain, fruitful seasons, food, and joy to all nations. How have you seen God’s kindness and provision in your own life or in the world around you, even among those who may not know Him?
  4. Signs and Wonders
The healing of the lame man in Lystra (vv. 8-10) confirmed the truth of Paul’s message about the resurrection and God’s power. How do you think God confirms His message today? Have you witnessed or experienced moments where God’s power was evident in your life or others’?
  5. Gratitude for God’s Gifts
Paul highlights God’s goodness in providing for humanity’s needs and filling hearts with joy (v. 17). How can cultivating gratitude for God’s gifts strengthen our faith and witness? Share one specific gift from God you’re thankful for this week and how it points you to Him.
Closing Application:
Encourage each group member to identify one practical step they can take this week to:
  • Ask the Holy Spirit for boldness in sharing their faith.
  • Turn away from a specific “idol” or distraction.
  • Express gratitude for God’s provision in their life.
Closing Prayer: Thank God for His witness to all nations, His provision, and His power. Ask for the Spirit’s help to live boldly, turn from idols, and rejoice in His gifts
